How often are backups created and how long do they stay available?
One snapshot per day, with a freely configurable number of retained snapshots from 1 to 365 (default: 7). Within that window you can jump back to any individual retained day at any time.
Where are the backups stored?
Simultaneously to S3 (or S3-compatible storage), via FTP, or locally on the server — multiple targets can be used in parallel for redundant off-site copies.
Are the backups encrypted?
Yes. Encryption (AES-256, via restic with CTR + Poly1305) happens client-side before the data leaves the server — the key stays exclusively in the panel. Even the storage provider cannot see the contents.
Do I always have to restore the entire snapshot?
No. Restores can be granular — a single file, a single database, or a single mailbox maildir, without touching the rest of the snapshot.
